A bombshell Prince Harry-Markle wedding invite just made international headlines

- Maret 10, 2018

In a stunning announcement, Prince Harry and his fiancée, American actress Meghan Markle, have revealed a wholly unexpected addition to their guest list.

The royal couple, who will be wed on the grounds of Windsor Castle on May 19th, has announced that they will invite more than 2,600 members of the public “to watch the arrivals of the bride and groom and their guests at St. George’s Chapel … and to watch the newlyweds depart the castle on a carriage procession through the town of Windsor.”

“Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have said they want their wedding day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too,” a palace press release said.

The royal couple has yet to release a guest list for the ceremony, including whether American President Donald Trump or his predecessor, Barack Obama, will be invited.

In an interview with Piers Morgan, Trump was asked whether he has received an invitation to the upcoming Royal wedding at Windsor Castle between Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle, Trump said, “Not that I know of.”

When further pressed, Trump’s only response was, “I want them to be happy. I really want them to be happy. They look like a lovely couple.”

The same sentiment, however, has not been shared by the royal couple.

Markle, for her part, has called the President “divisive” and a “misogynist,” labels that were brought up during the interview. When Morgan shared Markle’s remarks, Trump could only respond, “Well, I still hope they’re happy.”

It’s possible that Trump’s rare curbed language is a testament to his continued hopes to snatch an invitation, although at this rate, the likelihood of that is slim to none.

In fact, Trump’s relationship with the UK has been especially fraught in recent months. After Trump took to Twitter to retweet a far-right extremist group, a London council passed an official motion to the UK government to revoke its state visit invitation to the “bigoted” U.S. President.

Per The Independent, “A motion passed by the Royal Borough of Greenwich vowed that Donald Trump ‘would not be welcome’ in the area if the engagement goes ahead.”

Of course, a Twitter rant is still impending, should the royal couple invite their friend Barack Obama, the man whom Trump has predicated his presidency on destroying.

It seems that vile bigotry and classlessness doesn’t have much clout beyond a shrinking Republican base after all.

Perhaps Trump could learn a thing or two about these young leaders who value transparency over power, greed, and corruption.
